Work Package Leader: Prof. Vincent Lorant
The general objective of this work package is to generate new evidence from 7 cities on the extent to which tobacco control strategies are effective in influencing the prevalence of youth smoking, related social norms, and inequalities therein. The specific objectives are:
1. to organise a second wave of the SILNE survey among about 60 schools in the 7 cities,
2. to describe differences between schools in the prevalence of smoking-related outcomes, and to assess relationships with differences in tobacco control policies at the city and school levels,
3. to describe differences between schools in trends in smoking-related outcomes (as compared to the first survey), and to assess relationship with changes in tobacco control policies at the city and school levels,
4. to report on the results, and to contribute to the development of “models of impact on smoking” in WP4.
